HEAL Utah
Dharmatech provided HEAL Utah with a comprehensive technology solution including an integrated website/database, custom database reports, value-add consulting, training, strategic tech analysis, and technology infrastructure assistance (dedicated file server, firewall, automatic onsite backups, and offsite backups). HEAL Utah is a nonprofit advocacy organization that works to engage citizens in efforts to protect public health from nuclear and toxic waste and to promote clean energy policies in Utah.
Impact
In addition to providing HEAL Utah with affordable, appropriate technology solutions, we have also changed the way their staff thinks about technology. Now, when they plan or work on a campaign, they incorporate technology strategies and tools. They view technology as a central component of their organizing efforts, which makes their campaigns more strategic and effective.
We often write "throw-away" code for one-off tasks or to scratch our own itch. The source might not be immediately useful for others but the lessons learned are invaluable. We always try to blog, tweet, or share those lessons when appropriate.
