Our Open Source Philosophy

DharmaTech is committed to the concept of free and open software and is a leader in helping nonprofits leverage open source solutions.  At its core, open source enables us to collaborate with our peers in developing community-oriented solutions that promote data portability and interoperability.  It also provides our clients with access to a growing repository of software that can be integrated and customized as their needs evolve.

Our embrace of open source is grounded in seven years of experience helping other nonprofits harness new technologies to bring about lasting social change.  In keeping with our commitment, any code we develop is published and made available to the public, enabling others to reuse the code without any license fees.

For content management we use Drupal, a system simple enough for neophytes but powerful enough to support large and complex websites.  Entities as diverse as Amnesty International, The United Nations, and Yahoo use Drupal to manage their information assets.

For relationship management we use CiviCRM, an open source solution designed specifically for nonprofits.  CiviCRM integrates by design with Drupal, ensuring seamless connections between the content and tools nonprofits need to communicate with their constituents.
